After 12 years in the dual language program, a cohort of 31 students from Akins and Travis early college high schools will be the first group to graduate with the 小黄鸭导航 ISD Dual Language Seal of Biliteracy.
The 小黄鸭导航 ISD Dual Language Seal of Biliteracy requires graduates to complete all English Language Arts graduation requirements with an 80/100 overall average, four credits in bilingual content course taken in High 小黄鸭导航 with an overall average of 80/100, four Languages other than English courses (same language, taken in high school) with an average of 80/100, and a completed portfolio, including coursework and their journey through Dual Language.
Background
小黄鸭导航 ISD launched dual language programs in 2010 at 10 schools. These graduates began their dual language programs in kindergarten and have continued to learn in both English and Spanish through elementary, middle, and high school.
小黄鸭导航 ISD has expanded dual language programming to 73 campuses and serves more than 14,357 students. The program has also expanded beyond English and Spanish programs to also include Vietnamese and Mandarin Chinese.

- Akins Early College High 小黄鸭导航: Thursday, June 2 at 6 p.m., Burger Activity Center (3200 Jones Road).
