小黄鸭导航 ISD National Board Certified Teachers Designated "Recognized" by TEA

小黄鸭导航 ISD is excited to announce that the Texas Education Agency has formally designated the district's National Board Certified Teachers as "Recognized." This designation highlights the tremendous skill and dedication of the district's 219 National Board Certified Teachers.

In addition to the new designation, TEA approved AISD's application for funding for 185 National Board Certified teachers serving in teaching positions under the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). TIA was created by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3 to provide a realistic pathway for top teachers to earn six-figure salaries, and to help attract and retain highly effective teachers in high needs areas and at traditionally harder-to-staff schools.

The district will receive a funding allocation of $3,000 to $9,000 for each of the 185 recognized teachers. These allocations were calculated by the state and provided to the district based on the teacher's assigned campus using weighted point values for various student and economic census demographics. This funding supports the district in underwriting the stipends AISD has already been committed to investing in NBCT teachers since 2001.

The funding will allow the district to:

  • align with TIA's goal of compensation increases for all "Recognized" NBC teachers, with a prioritization of those teaching in high-needs areas;

  • promote the growth, diversity and expansion of the National Board program across the district;

  • and continue the significant financial investment provided annually in support of teachers pursuing and maintaining a National Board certification.

The TEA designation and Teacher Incentive Allotment not only rewards our National Board Certified Teachers for being the brightest in their field, but allows the district to expand its commitment to the growth and development of our educators.
