Boone, Bowie, Burnet, Mendez and Murchison get new leaders
小黄鸭导航 ISD's Board of Trustees on Monday approved new principal appointments for Boone Elementary Schoo, Bowie High 小黄鸭导航 and Burnet, Mendez and Murchison middle schools. Boone Elementary 小黄鸭导航 Trustees approved the appointment of Alan Stevens to lead . Stevens had been serving as interim principal at the school. While at Boone, he oversaw Social and Emotional Learning, Title 1 and AVID programs, as well the Creative Learning Initiative. Prior to joining that campus, he served as director of customer support services for the AISD Department of Technology. Stevens has also served as principal at Patton Elementary and as assistant principal at Small Middle 小黄鸭导航. Stevens got his start in education as a band director, having earned a Bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Texas at 小黄鸭导航. He also boasts a Master's degree in wind conducting from Sam Houston State University. Bowie High 小黄鸭导航 Trustees approved the appointment of Mark Robinson to lead Robinson most recently served as the principal at Hudson Bend Middle 小黄鸭导航 in Lake Travis ISD. In that role, he guided Hudson Bend to a TMSA 小黄鸭导航s to Watch designation three consecutive years. He also developed, implemented and refined a campus model for Response to Intervention that serves as a model for the Lake Travis ISD Assessment for Learning Program. As an associate principal at Lake Travis High 小黄鸭导航, Robinson consulted, advised and adapted a new district curriculum that aligned with state and national standards. He also served as an assistant principal at Lake Travis Middle 小黄鸭导航. At the University of Texas at 小黄鸭导航, Robinson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He also has a master's degree in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. Burnet Middle 小黄鸭导航 Trustees approved the appointment of Marvelia De La Rosa to lead . De La Rosa most recently served as the academy director at Lanier High 小黄鸭导航. In this role, she served as an instructional leader with a focus on providing professional development aligned with the academic and social needs of students. She worked with the professional learning communities and students to accelerate instruction supporting academic success. She also coordinated a campuswide tutoring program and successfully worked with staff, parents and the community to communicate information about the academic achievement of students. As an assistant principal at Lanier High 小黄鸭导航, she worked with teachers within the academy, providing instructional support. At the University of Texas at 小黄鸭导航, De La Rosa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a master's degree in both science and educational administration. Mendez Middle 小黄鸭导航 Trustees approved the appointment of Chris Jones to lead . Jones most recently served as an assistant principal at Burnet Middle 小黄鸭导航. In this role, he worked collaboratively with teachers, staff and parents to advance the academic achievement of students and their social and emotional development. Previously, Jones served as principal of Mather High 小黄鸭导航 in Chicago. He has also served as assistant principal at Taft High 小黄鸭导航 in Chicago. Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from North Park University in Chicago and a master's degree in educational leadership from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Murchison Middle 小黄鸭导航 The board approved the appointment of Bradley Clark to lead . Clark most recently served as an academy director for LBJ Early College High 小黄鸭导航. In this role, he implemented standards-based grading in the English Language Arts and Mathematics departments and led campus literacy initiatives that earned a TEA distinction in ELA. Clark also worked with campus administrators and faculty in co-leading school culture initiatives, and embraces Social and Emotional Learning for supporting school improvement. He previously served as dean of students at Dundee-Crown High 小黄鸭导航 in Illinois and taught at H.D. Jacobs High 小黄鸭导航, also in Illinois. Clark has a master's degree in educational leadership from Concordia University in Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a specialization in English from Southern Illinois University. ### |
