Clayton, Galindo get new leaders
On Monday, 小黄鸭导航 ISD's Board of Trustees approved new principal appointments for Clayton and Galindo elementary schools. Clayton Elementary 小黄鸭导航 Amy Gonzales was appointed to lead Clayton Elementary 小黄鸭导航. Gonzales most recently served as the school's interim principal. In this role, she worked to provide professional development to teachers, mentored and supervised new campus administrators; and engaged the campus community as a member of the Campus Advisory Committee. She previously served as assistant principal at Clayton, and taught English as a second language in kindergarten, first and fourth grades at Menchaca Elementary 小黄鸭导航. Gonzales has a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Texas at 小黄鸭导航 and a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Galindo Elementary 小黄鸭导航 Natascha Barreto-Romero was appointed to lead Galindo Elementary 小黄鸭导航. Barreto-Romero most recently served as assistant principal at Blazier Elementary 小黄鸭导航. In this role, she served as the lead administrator for third-, fourth- and fifth-grade teachers and students. She focused on improving campus performance, giving teachers feedback through regular appraisals and informal visits. She also organized and led end-of-year teacher leadership meetings to review schoolwide data and establish goals and focus areas for the upcoming school year. She previously served as reading specialist at Blazier and as a Pre-K and kindergarten teacher at Walnut Creek Elementary 小黄鸭导航. Barreto-Romero has a master's degree in education from Texas State University and a bachelor's degree in education from the University of New Mexico. ### |
