С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD students could be among Dell Medical С»ÆѼµ¼º½'s first graduating class. The students begin their studies in health care at next week's inaugural Dell Medical С»ÆѼµ¼º½ Health Sciences Summer Camp.
Reserved for about 50 AISD high school students, the first of the camps will be held July 27-31, primarily on The University of Texas at С»ÆѼµ¼º½ campus with some sessions at the Seton Healthcare Family facilities near University Medical Center-Brackenridge.
С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz will address the students at an opening ceremony Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.
The second camp, reserved for about 50 AISD junior high students, will be held Aug. 10-14. More details on the August camp will be provided in a separate media invitation, closer to the date. All the camps are free for students.
Monday, July 27:
8:30 a.m.: Opening ceremony, featuring AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz (Sanchez Building, room 104)
1:30-4:30 p.m.: EMS/Ambulance Demonstration (2101 Speedway)
Tuesday, July 28:
8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: CPR Certification (Gregory Gym)
Wednesday, July 29:
9-11:30 am: Neuroscience Lab Presentation, featuring Dr. Kimberly Raab-Graham, assistant professor, UT Center for Learning and Memory (University Teaching Center)
Thursday, July 30:
9:30-11:30 a.m.: Clinical Skills Simulation Lab (Clinical Education Center at UMC Brackenridge)
Friday, July 31:
9:30-10:30 a.m.: Cast/Splint Clinic and Star Flight demonstration (Clinical Education Center at UMC Brackenridge)
