小黄鸭导航 ISD is teaming up with Google to provide teachers or nonprofit organizations who work with AISD students with up to 100 Nexus tablets.
The tablets will be provided through the Teaching with Google Nexus Project, which is sponsored and managed by AISD鈥檚 Office of Innovation and Development and made possible by Google鈥檚 contribution of 100 tablets.
"Giving AISD students access to technology and the Internet is an investment in the future of 小黄鸭导航 and the tech world. With these tablets, students can explore the world and learn, while also developing valuable digital skills that they will use later in their education and in the workforce,鈥 Gerardo Interiano, head of Google Fiber Community Affairs, said. 鈥淭hat's why we are proud to work with the AISD on many STEM-related projects, including this tablet donation."
The goal of the project is to support creative and innovative ideas using technology to improve the educational outcomes of students. The program will encourage those who work closely with students to share their most innovative and meaningful strategies for integrating technology into their practice.
"The analysis of the results of the projects will give the district insight into the potential impact of the tablets on the daily instructional environment of AISD and how the tablets can be best leveraged to expedite the district鈥檚 evolution to a 21st-century learning institution,鈥 Jim Lax, AISD鈥檚 executive director of technology, said.
To be eligible, applicants must be teachers or administrators at an AISD campus, or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a written agreement with AISD that is posted in Youth Services Mapping,
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Oct. 1. The district will announce grantees Nov. 1.
