С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD families* interested in an Early Bird Tuition-Based Pre-K4 seat for the 2025-26 school year can apply to up to three (3) Pre-K4 campuses between February 5 and March 7, 2025. Families will be notified of the selection outcomes on March 14, 2025. 

Does your family speak a language other than English at home?

If so, your family may qualify for free Pre-K. Starting April 1, 2025, campuses will conduct language tests to determine if your child qualifies. Apply during General Enrollment starting April 1, 2025, at austinisd.org/enroll. If your child secures a seat in the Early Bird lottery and later qualifies for a non-tuition seat, they will no longer hold their Early Bird seat.

*Student applicants must live within С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD boundaries and be four years of age on or before September 1, 2025.

In February 2025, С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD launched an Early Bird Tuition-Based Pre-K4 enrollment period for families that do not qualify for free Pre-K4. This initiative will provide families the opportunity to apply for a limited number of Pre-K4 seats in order to better plan for their child care needs. 

2025–26 Early Bird Tuition-Based Pre-K4 Guidelines

• Students must be four years of age on or before September 1, 2025 to apply
• Students must live within С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD boundaries (i.e. no out-of-district transfers)
• Pre-K4 Dual Language programs and Winn Montessori are excluded from Early Bird Pre-K4
• Programs follow the С»ÆѼµ¼º½ ISD С»ÆѼµ¼º½ Year calendar
• Full-day curriculum runs from 7:45 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Monthly tuition for full-day Pre-K4 is $700 (proposed price)
• Seats are limited and will be allocated based on a randomized selection process
• There will be no waitlist or priority selection

• Families will be notified by email of the selection outcomes on March 14, 2025

• Families selected for Early Bird Pre-K4 will be required to accept their seat by March 28, 2025
• Pre-K students will follow two distinct paths to Kindergarten:
  1. Pre-K4 students in Dual Language programs will automatically roll up to Dual Language Kindergarten at their current school to ensure continuity of the program through 5th grade, as outlined by .
  2. Pre-K4 non-Dual Language (DL) students attending their neighborhood school will be enrolled in Kindergarten at their neighborhood school by default through Enroll С»ÆѼµ¼º½. Those students on a TRANSFER during their time in Pre-K are NOT guaranteed a seat at Kindergarten, due to space and staffing limitations. Non-DL students on a TRANSFER will be prompted to enroll in their neighborhood campus for Kindergarten OR can request transfers to the school they currently attend. The seats offered will be determined by the Enroll С»ÆѼµ¼º½ priority structure and capacity set by principals.
